Marine Archives Management and Service

　　NMDIS performs the duties of The National Marine Archives, being responsible for the collection, processing, archiving, management and service of the national and international cooperative marine scientific and technological archives, and the work of drawing up the marine archives standards, specifications and regulations; collection, production and editing of marine audio-video data as will as special-subject video production and service. The current holdings include an enormous amount of marine scientific and technological archives from the surveys on China's coastal zone, and the comprehensive surveys on China's island resources , and the comprehensive surveys on the China's near waters , etc. Currently, the national marine scientific and technological archives management database and its automatic service system are being established and perfected.
